About Pathways/ Contact Us 

 The COVID-19 pandemic clearly illustrated the need for a well-trained and versatile public health workforce. To respond, in 2021 the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) partnered to develop and launch the California Pathways into Public Health Initiative (Pathways). Pathways is an innovative program that provides training, hands-on work experience, and ongoing support through two efforts: a Fellowship Program and an Internship Program. 

 Pathways is funded through and administered by CDPH. In combination​ with CDPH, UCSF, and UCLA, California’s local health departments are essential partners for the Fellowship and Internship Programs.
